הבה נזכור שהצעצועים הראשונים היו עשויים מעץ אך עם הזמן הם נעלמו, בין תחילת שנות ה-20, ה-30 וה-40 גדלו צעצועי הפח ברחבי העולם, כאשר גרמניה הייתה החלוצה, הייצור הופסק במהלך מלחמת העולם השנייה ואפילו היום צעצועי הפח. חלקם שמורים היטב עם הקופסה והיצירה השלמה שלהם.
