Hi, nice to meet you, I'm Ilanit Nathaniel, a personal travel planner to Portugal, with a deep love for this amazing country. After dozens of trips, in-depth research and unforgettable experiences, I decided to turn my passion into a career and help travelers experience Portugal in the best possible way.
How did I start planning trips to Portugal?
It was a few years ago. I just received the message that I won - congratulations! 😍 I'm about to become a Portuguese citizen!
Of course, this is accompanied by excitement, but at the same time - what do we do now? You have to fly to Portugal and bring your passport. In the process, I also thought about how to make planning a trip to Portugal a simple and pleasant task, especially when it involves children and family.
At exactly that time I was busy renovating my fitness studio ♀️ 🏋️, between the big vacation and the kids 👶👦👧, and I didn't have a moment to breathe.
So I tried, like all of us, to plan a family trip to Portugal, but I found myself looking for information about attractions, special places, and what to do with children - everything was confused and disorganized.
Portugal, with all its amazing websites, does not always provide accessible information in Hebrew, and the information in English 🌍 was very partial.
📚 The books on the shelf didn't help, and then I realized that I needed to build a personalized itinerary for Portugal.
I like order but also flexibility 😎, so I built myself a digital guide to Portugal that allows for spontaneity. For example, if I'm in Lisbon and the kids are tired 😴, I simply open a tab of attractions in Lisbon, filter by mood - outdoor or indoor activities 🌳🏛 - and get a neat list of options suitable for the whole family.
My personal connection to Portugal
My love for Portugal started by accident, but quickly turned into a real love story. Thanks to a close friend, Naomi Falah, I came to Portugal for the first time. And from there, everything is history. I traveled again and again, and each time I discovered more magical sides of this amazing country.
Not only as a tourist destination, but really as a second home 🏠.
Portugal is much more than amazing landscapes and attractions. She is the people. Warm people, smiling, with a joy of life that is contagious and carnivals 🎉 that you just can't help but smile with. The locals have become real friends for me. They shared with me the secrets of the small and special places that are not mentioned on the internet. It's not something you find on Google - it's something you live it, experience it, breathe it.
Today I am planning trips in Portugal with great passion. I know the wave season 🌊 and recommend which beach you will find the perfect wave ♀️ 🏄. I receive updates directly from the Portuguese about the opening of new websites 📨, and I'm constantly learning more and more about the country I love so much.
But the place I am most connected to is the Serra de Luz mountains. There I found the wild landscape, nature in all its power, and the people from whom I learned what true love for life is. The warmth, simplicity, and truth in them touched me deeply.
When they ask me, "How do you manage to plan trips to Portugal when you don't live there?", I just smile. It's not a professional secret - it's a passion. A passion to discover, explore, and connect people to the real Portugal. The Portugal you don't find in books 📚, but through the heart 💛.
